I'm trying to make/find a Step by Step Petrus guide like this for CFOP. Could some people help me get this together.

Thank you

Well, I guess I'll get started so add anything you want to this original framework:

  1. Learn Petrus

    • Learn at Lars' site.
    • Be sure to optimize block building, use Johannes' site.
    • Learn OLL cases 21-27 while your at it.
    • Projected Average: 45
    • Goal before moving on: Move on when you know the method.
  2. Learn 2-Look PLL

    • Corner Algs:

      • A (Inverse is helpful too)
      • Y (Or an opposite corner swapping equivalent)
    • Edge Algs:

      • U (And Inverse)
      • Z
      • H
    • Projected Average: 30
    • Goal before moving on: sub-40
    • Time: ??
  3. Learn 1-look PLL

    • Be sure to try many algs and to choose ones that work for you.
    • Many places to learn this,
    • I suggest here for a large variety.
    • Possibly make a printout of your chosen algs.
    • Take time for each alg for recognition.
    • Projected Average: 20
    • Goal before moving on: sub-30
    • Time: ??
  4. EJF2L

    • Learn MGLS.
    • (Only I and Im cases)
    • Use ErikJ's Videos to Learn how to implement.
    • Projected Average: ??
    • Goal before moving on: Is there anything afterward? Heise maybe?
    • Time: ??

[*]Generic Step

  • Generic Instruction
  • Projected Average: ??
  • Goal before moving on: sub-??
  • Time: ??

I really don't know what your times are going to be, but I wouldn't bother learning EJF2L until your at least sub 20. It cuts of just a fraction of a second really, but once your sub 20, every bit counts. I'll give you some advice or answer questions if you please my contact stuff is over there<<<<<I've got my youtube, preferably instant messaging, skype, stuff like that.

I would say the 1 inbetween step could be to learn 1 step PLL. This is required for MGLS, since it orients corners, so it would be a good transition... Perhaps for convenience, the solver could learn OLL + CPLL + EPLL for the first step.

Okay, I have added many links and added the full PLL step, do you think we should add a step in between the 1st two for 2 look PLL? (seeing as with petrus some steps may be repeated)

Well it really depends what direction they want to go with it... You don't have to do EJ you could do COLL or some type of ZZ or ZB. Or just OLL + PLL...
But getting a 2LLL with the 7 OLL's and the PLL's probably isn't a bad idea regardless of what direction you take.

Yea, we can have it split at a certain point, but for now im jsut adding all i can at first, in fact once i add 2-look link, add anythnig you feel should be added

These how-tos seem to be aimed at those who don't know what they want. And there are surprisingly many of them, topic titles like "What should I learn next?" aren't uncommon.

I don't really remember what I learned when or what reduced my times and by how much. In fewest moves solving, practising with optimal solvers has helped the most.

Made some various additions such as projected averages and links to the 2 look perms
