I dont know if anyone can help but ive desperatly googled for an answer but couldnt find one for my situation.

So i have vista but obviously had windows xp before. I use to use jnet cube on my old comp and it worked just fine. I downloaded java(the old version wasnt there so i had to get some new version) and got jnetcube. When i double clicked as usual it didnt work and asked for an "open with"

I looked online and saw that u can open .jars with the cmd java -jar etc. Unfortunatly i get the error that its not executable. (unable to access)

If anyone can help it would be realllly appreciated.

Have you extracted the files?

And smskill12 please be more specific. Winrar is a program that extracts files, but Windows Vista can already do that.

Not entirely true; yes, Vista can extract .zip files, but can't extract .rar files, which is what Winrar is mainly for. But both Jnet and CCT come in zip files anyway, so yeah, 3rd party software isn't required.

And ShintaKunX, if it's not opening automatically, then it could be a problem with your Java. Have you tried re-installing it?

it seems to be a permissions error... Look up how to change permissions for files. Idk if I'm thinking of Linux though

Java
Make sure you have the Java Runtime Environment installed. I got mine from http://javadl.sun.com/webapps/download/AutoDL?BundleId=23111 but check http://www.java.com/en/download/manual.jsp for the latest version and check out http://www.java.com/en/download/installed.jsp as well

Jnetcube
go to http://downloads.sourceforge.net/jnetcube/jnetcube.zip
Save the zip-file on your desktop
Rightclick the zip-file on your desktop, extract all, extract
Double-click the .jar-file and it should open (because it is opened by a trusted executable)

Avoid problems
If it doesn't open, right-click the .jar-file, properties, unblock (executable files from untrusted sources get blocked to prevent malware)
Now double-click the .jar-file again and it should open

Also, there is indeed no need for a 3rd party unzipper if you have Windows XP or later. But having http://www.7-zip.org/download.html on your system is a good thing ;)

Um sorry but this is obviously not a winrar problem unless theres a way to run a way by extracting the jar itself.

Avgalen ty for your help. I already had java installed but reinstalled and got the same problem. I checked the one site you gave me and it said i had the latest Jre.

I guess to be more specific when i double click java doesnt work properly and it ask for a program to open with. Is there a file in the bin of java i can open it with to make it work?

try going to the java folder under Program files...I think there's a java.exe or something like that

(I'm on Vista too, and everything works fine for me)
