Help with estimated times pls.

i'm practicing f2l at the moment and i've noticed that the last slot is difficult to fill in. has anyone any advice for this?

Why is it difficult? Is it because like me you are weak when there is a corner piece at the bottom :D.

its difficult for me because the cases i get are random and when i try to turn the F2L case into something noticeable all the other pieces get stuffed up X)
any advice??

Try Petrus or Roux :)
Seriously, though. Solve the cross. Just play around with the cube for a while, taking note of what you can disturb and what you can't. e.g if you turn a face, look at how you can move the other faces without disturbing any cross pieces or F2L pairs. THEN try to use that to work F2L pieces into a pattern you know.

ok thanks,
and i'm taking a look at badmephisto,
his videos have completely shown me a new way of moving f2l pieces =)

Also for last slot you need to know how to insert pieces without disturbing the other corners.

and how do i do that? have you got a link cos thats the bit i'm stuck at...

[badmephisto made my hell (f2l) into heaven]

Actually when you go to websites to learn F2L they are in fact already teaching you the algorithms to insert the edge-corner pair without disturbing other corners.

It is only when I play with them then I learn to intuitively insert from different angles/slots.

Someone posted this link which is nice, though I have not started looking at it much. I should start :).

True, once your've learnt how they work, you can make use of empty slots and shorten the moves.

ok thanks a lot,
i hope in 9 minutes i can learn intuitive F2l,
then start practicing X)

You weren't being serious about trying Petrus or Roux?

Well, I was serious. Poor word choice. However people asking for help with one method rarely enjoy being told to try a different method.

You should practice F2L like your life depended on it. I told myself in November 2007 when I had only been cubing 5 months that I wasn't going to learn any new LL algs for 2 years, which I would use to get really good at F2L. I only have a couple weeks to go, and I can average sub-20 with 15/21 PLLs and 2L OLL. It helps more than you can imagine, and it's more fun to use your intuition then to become an algorithm robot.

F2L FTW!!!

Wow. That's dedication o.O
That's what I've decided at this point. I'm not learning any new techniques/algorithms until I'm sub-20 with my current 3LLL.

what would the time be if i did:
cross
f2l (intuitive)
2 look OLL
and 2 Look PLL
and would anyone know the move count for this by any chance?

My F2L is really not looking good, i've done it for 3 weeks and my f2l time is 35 seconds including cross! *sigh*
