I am sub 23/22 and I have been struggling with cross. I mess up the centers every few solves and I never have a good solution for any of my solves.
Could anyone suggest any tips?

Hi! I was having trouble with cross about two months ago, but now I'm able to one look a cross fairly consistently. First of all, what do you mean by messing up the centers? Second of all, make sure you practice just making cross, don't bother solving the whole cube. To start begin slowly by looking at the cube and writing down a cross solution. idealy it should be under 9 moves since any cross can be solved in under 9-8 moves. after writing down a solution, try it and repeat. eventually, you can start memorizing the the solution and the process will become intuitive. hope this helps. Youtube is also a great resource for this kind of stuff. my method is very original, but it has helped me to succeed.

I mean when i mess up lining up the centers and edges, ususally mixing up opposites e.g lining up green edge with blue center and lining up blue center with green edge
I have this issue too sometimes. Memorizing the color scheme can help you build an accurate cross, also predicting 2 edges during inspection can help you insert the other two. If you practice, eventually you can predict the entire cross during inspection.

Don't do full solves and do not use a timer. Use a WCA scramble and then plan your entire cross solution and then close your eyes and execute it. If you can not plan all 4 pieces, just plan 3. If you can't solve 3 with your eyes closed just do 2. Rescramble and repeat!

I have a csTimer session for only cross. I use manual entry and input the number of moves to solve the cross as my "time." This will help you get a sense of your solution efficiency once you can plan all 4 pieces.

If you have an old cube you can also remove the stickers so only the cross or just the bottom face is present which is gimmicky but IMO still helpful.
