I have been practicing solving the F2L. One of the cases I have been unable to find a short method to solve is when a pair is in the correct position, but the edge is flipped!

I have tried many ways to get around it, but all end up taking over 7 seconds.

The fastest I find is to apply this:
U' L' U L U F U' F'
or its mirror to remove the edge from the second layer, and then place it using the same algorithm (or its mirror) in the correct orientation.

Is there a fast way to solve it?

Do every thing you can to avoid it. If you notice it during the early stages of f2l just rip it out with R U R' and continue with other pairs and fix it later. otherwise I would do R U' R' y U' L' U2 L U2 L' U L. Or if you can do an R move to bring the flipped edge into the top layer solve pairs on the left side of the cube (f2l pairs that are not effected by the R move), then do an R', more than likely you will end up with a better f2l case. This makes sense to me but its nearly midnight and I'm pretty tired so I'm not sure how clear it actually is.
