Hi all!!
Glad to be here, I'm new. I'm from Spain. Sorry in advance if my english is not good enough...
I started speedcubing (I mean trying to solve the cube as fast as possible...
) 10 months ago...although I already knew how to solve 3x3 years ago (using beginner's method, and also 2x2 and pyraminx). The 3x3 took me like 4-5 minutes I guess, but I never pretended to solve it fast on those days...in fact I didn't even knew about "speedcubing world"...
But since I tought my son to solve it last year, and since he seemed to be quite good at it and started with advanced method (CFOP), he insisted that I learnt fingertricks, reduced Fridrich and so on...and that's how I finally got here.
I even attended a few WCA competitions, only 3x3 and 2x2 categories, I average 50-55 seconds...so I'm still quite slow. I only use basic-rough f2l algorithms, some OLL (only 12 algorithms or so) and 10 PLL algorithms. And muy fingertricks...bufff are not the best.
Instead my son averages under 20s in 3x3 and solves all cubes, he is improving a lot day by day (not like me...
).
And what else...we love cubes, we have a quite large collection of 42 aprox. and..don't know, I think this is enough for the first day, we will get to know each other better as long as we interact here.
Cheers!!
