Hello! Question about my times?

Ok so I learned to solve the cube about a month ago with the beginner's method. I found it very fun and got a Dayan Zanchi stickerless (I know it's not usable in competition), and my best solve is 53 seconds. This is using the beginner's method. I learned F2L and a few days ago and can solve using F2L in 1:20. I know it will get faster as I get better, but are there any key shortcuts or tricks I should know (besides learning all the OLLs and PLLs/doing that later)? Thanks in advance!

Go slow and look ahead. A nonstop F2L could probably give you a 15 second average with 2 look oll+pll. Use a metronome, or plan a few pairs ahead.
