I'm Karan from New Delhi, India. I got into cubing(3x3s mainly) about 4 years ago
and after a year or so I got a couple of DIYs. After around 6 months i averaged around 30 secs
when I left practice and solved merely at someone's request or to kill time.
The interest rekindles in me almost every winter(dunno why
) and this time I went ahead a bit more seriously
My averages had dropped(35+ secs) and some solves were really slow, so then I decided to get some new cubes(I just had a type A and YUGA cube previously + eastsheen 2/4/5). Internet research suggested I should get a guhong or a zhanchi.
I ended up buying the follwwing 5 3x3s actually( also a 2x2 and a pyraminx) as I got the cubes at a flat 50% off from a chinese site

- Zhanchi black
- C IV witlong white... It just stops while turning(dunno how to explain.. doesnt lock up up suddenly the resistance goes up soo much)
- cube4you transparent(just coz it was succhha bargain)
The zhanchi has brought down my avg to 27 secs with my fastest solve being 23 secs, although I still havent beaten my previous personal best of 18 secs. I'm hoping to be a sub -20 soon and I'v noticed i'm really slow at the cross:fp
