As you might be able to deduce from my user name I am the dad of a new 9yr old cuber. He loves watching the cubing videos from Z3, Soup Timmy, and Jperm. He has dreams of getting a world record but right now can’t get his 2x2 times below the time limit since he hasn’t started learning the advanced methods to cut down his times.
I was introduced to the Rubik’s Cube in the 80’s. The only way I could solve it was taking it apart. I bought a book on how to solve it but couldn’t decipher the language in the book even though it seemed to be written in English. I have only recently gotten back into it with my son. I am to the point where I can solve a 2x2 and 3x3 without the instructions using the beginner layer by layer method. So 40+ years for my first solve! Maybe that is world record?
