I'm a 53 year old software developer from Minnesota, USA. My 10 year old son got into cubing a couple years ago and the whole family got the bug. Last year my 11 year old daughter became the 87th US female to successfully complete a blindfolded solve in a WCA competition. I will never be able to beat either of them on any of the normal events, so I have taken to specializing in the blind events. My 3BLD PB is 2:56, 4BLD PB is 11:01, 5BLD PB is 31:10, and MBLD PB is 6/7. So I'm not super competitive yet but I enjoy the challenge. I can't even solve the 4x4 or 5x5 by any method other than the OP / M2 blind method which makes it awkward at competitions if I mess up a blind solve I have to ask the judge if they can finish the solve for me
. Anyway, looking forward to doing the blind events in your competitions, it is very hard to find WCA competitions near me that include blind events so this is deeply appreciated even though even if I set new PBs I will probably still get dead last in most of the events. Hoping to learn 3 style soon but it looks like it might take more time than I can spend on it.
