Hello everyone, my name is Cameron. I'm in the US Navy stationed in Japan(I'm originally from Alaska). I have been solving a Rubik's cube since I was in high School(Probably 2007 I think). It started out of frustration of not knowing how, then after my first few solves I kept getting faster. Eventually I learned the F2L and just doing that helped me get down to solves of around 1:00. I think my fastest recorded time was ~:45.
I recently got a Rubik's speedcube for Christmas and decided I was going to learn how to get faster. I started learning the 2 step OLL and PLL and after about 2-3 days I learned all the algorithms. I've been using them a couple weeks now and I still can't seem to drastically affect my time. The step I feel takes me the longest is the F2L which I solve intuitively with the exception of the basic algorithms.
My overall goal is to at least bring my time down to less than :30 but It'd be awesome if I could get to, or even below, :10
Any advice on how to get there, or better cubes to get(I'm still on the Rubik's speedcube) and where I can get them(either in Japan or online easily), would be greatly appreciated.
