Hey everyone

About five years ago my school friend Logan introduced me to the Rubik's cube, and I was entertained for a few months. I left speedsolving until now, when for no reason whatsoever I had the urge to get back into cubes. I couldn't remember how to solve the last layer! After a youtube video to refresh my memory, I timed myself at 2 minutes for the 3x3. It's been a couple of weeks, and my average is in the low 40s, with my best non-lucky time at 35 seconds. I have a stickerless Zhanchi, a megaminx, and a few other cubes. I ordered a purple DIY Guhong and a Shengshou 4x4, so excited :)

Today I will record a video for the Solve Critique Thread!

Here is my video: http://www.speedsolving.com/forum/s...ritique-Thread&p=810094&viewfull=1#post810094

Welcome to the forums! Where from California are you? I'm up in San Jose. There are competitions pretty frequently up in the Bay Area, usually 5-6 a year.
After watching your video, I'd say the biggest things tripping you up are F2L piece recognition and turning fluidity. Your control of the cube is decent, but can be very much improved. I suggest doing intentional untimed slow solves to work on look-ahead and fluidity overall.

Happy cubing!

awesome job dude, welcome aboard! look forward to more videos. :tu
Thanks! It took me a while to find a good angle to film at haha. I am taking a learning to film movies at school, so maybe this will come in handy in my future vids.

I'm in Turlock, and I would like to enter a competition once I improve my skills. I have a purple guhong that I diy'ed with traxxas following this video, and I'm eager to break it in. I am having some trouble with eliminating any pauses as I solve, because I haven't entirely commited the F2L cases (which I do intuitively) to muscle memory so that I can focus on looking ahead for the next case.

Thanks for your input!
