Howdy y’all! My name is Paul and I just started cubing a few months ago but I’m excited about learning more about it!
I just started picking up cfop methods off of YouTube videos recently ( I was using beginner methods from the booklets before that) and I’m trying to nail down F2L before I tackle the other steps(which seem a little intimidating tbh).

I have a couple cubes I picked up from amazon that work great but I’ve never tried a major speed brand before so I’m not sure what the differences are.
Other than 3x3, I’m interested in getting a 2x2 and a pyraminx! The pyraminx especially looks rad, but one thing at a time for now lol.
Hope to seeya around =)

Hey, welcome to the forum!

That is great your starting to learn CFOP. You should check out Cubeskills.com! What cubes did you buy from Amazon? Yeah, you should look into getting a 2x2 and Pyraminx. They are both fun events and they are easy to learn too.

Thank you! And thanks for the tip,
the cubes I have from amazon are the
D fantix cyclone (I really like the sticker less look) and the
creativeline speedripper (which is definitely smoother to turn).
I have the budget for something from a specialty website but there’s so many to choose from lol

Your welcome! Yeah, I'm sure you will find that there is a big difference between the ones you got and real speedcubes. How much were you looking at spending? Also what are you averaging now?

Welcome! I got my first Speed Cube from ebay, and at first I taught it was the best thing ever. Later on, I found out about speedcubeshop.comspeedcubeshop.com and thecubicle.us which are the most popular stores to get cubes from. There are a lot of really good budget cubes you can get (like the mf3rs2).

You will definitely improve your times here!

Hi Pelipper,

When you're ready to start OLL and PLL and if you want to ease into it with 4LLL...

Here's the simplest way I know by using variations of only 9 algorithms to solve the 16 cases:
http://www.solvexio.cf/app/#/FIXLL_OnePage

3 algs for Corner OLL/PLL (a sune and 2 triggers, and variations/combinations of them).
then 6 algs for Edge OLL/PLL using memorable, fun and fast middle slice algs!

Cornercutter- I wasn’t sure how big the difference would be but I can drop up to around 15-20 bucks on a cube at this point. I’m not crazy fast with my hands yet and I’m currently averaging a little over a minute with F2L/beginner endings but it’s dropping which is cool.

&rubik2005 nice, I’ll definitely look into purchasing from there! I’ve seen it linked elsewhere but like I said-there’s so many to choose from

Thanks for the OLL/PLL links! I’m almost there so that’s a huge help =D
