Hello speedcubers!
My name is João, I'm 16 years old and I'm from Portugal.
I've been cubing for about 2-3 years now and I've managed to solve some cubes by myself :P.
My solutions are a bit slow, but I guess I'll just learn some famous speed cubing solutions.
I already know move notation and I 've already lubricated my cubes, so I AM READY TO ENTER THE WORLD OF SPEEDCUBING :).

Anywho...... Here are my slow records XD

Pyraminx - 0:23.27
2x2 rubik - 0:20.50
3x3 rubik - 1:28.30
4x4 rubik - 6:07.75
5x5 rubik - 8:06.28
Megaminx - not yet solved :P

Also, my 3x3 broke, so which cube should I purchase for speedcubing?
A C4U or an Alpha V ? I think these are the best ones.

Thank You and Happy Cubing!

Welcome João!
To get started, you should try the following methods...
Petrus, Roux, ZZ, CFOP(aka Fridrich).

Also try Heise to expand your cubing knowledge, and Waterman just because it's cool.

I use Roux, averaging 13 seconds. Oh and I use a Type C, it's a great cube.

Hello João and welcome to the speedsolving forums!

Alpha-V is a pretty reliable cube, and you can mod it yourself. However, most would agree that the Dayan cubes, which are the most innovative 3x3s at the moment in terms of mech, are considered to be the "fastest" cubes out there. I suggest you get yourself a cube you can control for your speed, though. Get a Dayan cube once you are averaging around 30 seconds or so.

Have fun!
