heading towards the internet for cubes

"Pestvic's method" is for the impatient, and cuts your cube's life in half, or worse, depending on how aggressive you are. You will get better results if you just break in your cube by solving it a lot. This will take many many solves, but you'll end up with an overall better, non-destroyed cube.

You'll get even better results in a shorter amount of time if you just buy a DIY rather than spend weeks breaking in a store bought by just solving it.

stop using pestvic's method to break them in, as you are clearly breaking your cubes.

DIYs are great, the only drawback is they pop. Rubik's won't pop if you break them in naturally, and they can become very good. you should definitely buy a DIY though, because you keep breaking your store-boughts.

does anybody know if i can jsut put vaseline in my cube and use it for a couple of weeks to get rid of some of the plastic, clean it out and lube with silicone? ive heard that works

You have no basis to say this. Storeboughts can be broken a variety of ways. It is not clear that elcarc's broken cubes are a result of pestvic's method.

I have broken 3 storeboughts myself. The first one I got a 4-5 years back and they were quite sturdy. Back then, my method of breaking the cube was playing hacky sack with it and chucking it against a wall. I've tried the same with two other cubes and they just flat out broke after the first throw. Stupid break in method I know. I was just screwing around. So either my first cube was just super sturdy or the quality of storeboughts have been decreasing.

I have never had a broken DIY though. Probably because I'm nice to them.

lately ive had the worst of luck. every storebought, no matter how good out of the box, breaks. ive had storebought that broke while speedsolving, breaking in, and just messing around. Last night one of the center peices broke right off the core (of course this is unfix-able). I really want to know why the quality of the storebought cubes is so terrible.

im getting ghost hand cubes, but i still want to know why EVERY cube has broken beyond repair

(i have searched the forums and have found nothing but how to break in a storebought)
All my storebought cubes are great.
My Oldest storebought cube is as good as my type d diy.
