lately ive had the worst of luck. every storebought, no matter how good out of the box, breaks. ive had storebought that broke while speedsolving, breaking in, and just messing around. Last night one of the center peices broke right off the core (of course this is unfix-able). I really want to know why the quality of the storebought cubes is so terrible.

im getting ghost hand cubes, but i still want to know why EVERY cube has broken beyond repair

(i have searched the forums and have found nothing but how to break in a storebought)

Get the rubik's brand. They are pretty good if you work with them. I've never had a report of THEM breaking.

How often do you play with yours? I've had store bought cubes for over 3 years and they haven't broke. I have 3 (now 4, but still haven't opened it) store boughts. The stickers do come off, but the core and the cubies are fine. I've even had petroleum jelly (sp?) in them but I've clean them out. One is kind of slower, but I don't use that one that a lot. I think you might be alittle too rough on your cubes or maybe you had vaseline or something and it ate away the plastic. Maybe try not to drop it or crack it open a lot. Well at least you're getting a DIY, that would probably last longer than store bought.

My friends fastest cube was a Rubik's brand with cubesmith tiles on it. Today while we were trying to see whose EPLLs were faster the center broke off. I also have a broken Rubik's brand. I think they break because their made with less quality than DIY's and such.

What are you doing to your cubes that could possibly make it break? The only time a cube has ever broken for me is when I launched it across my room. Have you lubricated it? If so, with what?

I got a Rubik's brand, and it fell off from a meter high and one of the center pieces broke off the core. :( They are not very hard as you may think.

it doesnt really matter anymore, im going to the internet, and my loyalty to storebought is now terminated.

ps(i watch thrawst's tip of the week every week)

But if you're breaking a storebought, it seems like you'd break a DIY even easier.
