Hey guys, I am current learning how to solve the 4x4 but i am really stuck on the bit where you make the "Dedges" . I can easily pair up most of them but i don't where you have to put them. Originally i thought you just placed them next to there corresponding center(colour-wise), but on tutorials and pictures it shows the dedges all done but scattered round the cube.

If someone could help me it would be greatly appreciated :)

You can place them anywhere as long as it won't mess up after you realign the centers.

For beginner edge pairing, most people place the solved dedge on the top or bottom layer. Make sure you replace it with an unsolved edge everytime and it should be fine.

You don't have to place them next to their respective centers. Just pair them up and place them where they're not split apart again when you undo the slice through the middle.

Watch this tutorial, it's very good: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4anBuKlhn0Q&feature=PlayList&p=E8C8141E4FA2F0E0&index=1

Yeah watch the video. Once you get the hang of it go onto double edge pairing or 6 edge pairing. I used to never like solving my 4x4 because i hated singe edge pairing because i had to find the piece too much, and lost interest.
