[WR] Haiyan Zhuang 32.27 BLD single

how fast is at 3x3 speedsolve?

he isn't

I don't get it...his 3x3x3 results in competition are extremely perplexing. How can you DNF at half of your 3x3x3 speed solves yet be so consistently good at BLD? Or is this some random mysterious WCA thing?

He doesn't care about speedsolve time. With eyes opened, he gets bored halfway and gives up.

When you are too good at something, you get bored. Just like how Yu Nakajima gets bored with cubing.

That doesn't make sense... he isn't good at 3x3 speedsolving. AFAIK, he doesn't even know a speedsolving method.

He should have just memorised the whole cube during the 15 second inspection time and use BLD algorithms to get 15-20 sec speedsolve.

Do they usually place a piece of paper in front of you, or was the Judge so worried?
Yes, it's a regulation.

Why? It's not like exec means anything. This way he actually gets to practise the proper BLD procedure.

yes he did 2 years ago:D he once said on national tv that he got sub 20 in speedsolving (seems no comp that year in China), and then he found BLD more interesting and gave up speedsolving. anyway, after substract his memorisation time from his result, he often got sub 20 as well:D

22 second execution is pretty freaking awesome. That's faster than half of my regular speedsolves. I still think with that brain he could get freaking good at 3^3 speed. How can you find that classic event un-fun?
