Hello there,

I am new to cubing and I was surfing on the forums in order to find a good cube. I found a lot of good feedback about Dayan GuHong cube and a lot of people said that it's illegal. I just wonder, how the heck a cube can be illegal until it's an automatic machine which auto solves or it's made from crack? (Sorry for my stupidity but I would like an explanation if possible). Thanks indeed.

Regards,
Michael.

Legal in competitions, and I don't think this is going to change. Legal to sell is neither here nor there at the moment.

I'm actually asking the OP what they meant and it's 100% valid to ask for a number of reasons:

- The recent patent issues with V-Cubes could result it in being illegal to exist.
- Some people have been posting saying that the patent issues make it illegal to be used in competitions.
- The six colour Guhong is NOT allowed to be used in competitions.

Sorry, then. I thought you were just asking, and not directing it at the OP.

That's stupid of them to say. It's still allowed in competitions. I don't even see what someone using it in the competition would have to do with a patent lawsuit on the its manufacturer's.

That's illegal for a completely different reason. It's because of how the colors are placed, and can be used for better look-ahead.

It's pretty darn obvious that my question was to the OP as it made no sense to anyone else.

The OP also didn't give any reason that it would be illegal so again this is a perfectly valid and necessary thing to say.
