the only person that comes to mind is zbigniew zborowski because i know that he didn't invent ZZ: that was ryan heise i think, but then i don't know why it was named after him.

i remember reading on the speedsolving wiki that it was developed independently by ryan heise (eoline + eocross + everything else) earlier in 2003, and zbigniew also developed it independently and published it on his own website in 2006.
