yeah, so basically i recently hit my first minunte after implementing F2L in my beginner method.
Then since that i have learned 4LLL and .. bang!

That was, well .. unexpected. I didn't expect to get any sub 30 solves for at least another month. Was just lucky i quess.
My average is still nowehere near 30 seconds, but i was just realy positively suprised and i thought i would share it with you guys.

But most importantly i would like some TIPS on what i should focus on the most to get faster.

1. I would recommend you become VERY familiar with your f2l cases...use intuitive f2l and eventually learn algs for the tougher/slower cases.

2. Your tps was pretty slow, but that is likely because of just recently learning F2l. Practice your 4LLL algs and get them as fast as possible.

3. Your cross (from what I can see) could be much more efficient. Look at Badmephisto's cross tutorial (found here > http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hY_FbpdNRCQ )

The process of getting faster will take time, but you will see results quickly!!

Just so you know, I have terrible 4LLL algs (I chose easy to memorize ones) and I still average 20 seconds. So just keep practicing!

Edit: Good solve btw!

Like the reaction. Nice going getting your first sub-30 already.

As for tips, it's hard to really see anything that's going on in the video (bad lighting and angle). And you should probably show an average solve so we know what you're like normally. So all I have for you is generic advice. Keep practicing for now and get used to the F2L cases and recognition. Search the forum... there are a number of threads that talk about how to get faster. Consider getting a real speedcube at some point. That's all I have to say.

What do you mean a real speedcube? Is this one bad? It's a MoYu Weilong V2. Thought it was ok ^^
If there are better ones please let me know and i will buy it

Thanks you for an in depth answer. As for my TPS i am still looking for ways i can fingertrick my algs.
My 4 LLL algs are probably not the most efficient ones either, but those were the ones i found easiest to learn :P

And yes, cross is the pain -.-

Thanks :)

It sounds a bit like a Rubiks brand and we couldn't see the cube closely, she probably thought it was rubiks haha. Weilong v2 is excellent. Keep up the good work!

Alright :P have any idea why it sounds like that? I lubed it with silicone spray, but i am probably not the best at lubing.

Also i ordered like 15 different 3x3x3 speedcubes yesterday actually. You can get them so ridiculously cheap on all those websites, so i just thought i would test a whole bunch and pick the one i like :)

Ordered a Zhanchi, Guhong, Chilong, Sulong, Gans , Wind, Fanshi, Cyclone Boys etc. Some black some white.

One thing - we don't need to see the timer as much as we do the cube. If you can fit the timer in the screen then great, but the cube is what we really need to see for tips. Better lighting would help too.
Good job on your sub-30 though - you're certainly improving fast!

Will keep that in mind for the next time i record some solves. I quess i will have to do it at the daytime instead of in the middle of the night like i did now ^^

One tip for lighting...you have a lot of light sources, so try to limit that number. You screen, the glass table, etc make it difficult to see, especially with your current camera. Try recording against a wooden table if possible.

Woah. I wish I could do that :(

Weilongs in general have a deeper sound. There's nothing wrong with yours :)

I have seen many people get a really weird progression.... I wonder why I am still not sub 20 after seven months ;/ (Averaging at home.. I mess up at competition.)

Thanks :)

LOL... ok my bad. Yeah, I thought it was a Rubik's brand because it sounded a bit like one and maybe because I'm so used to Weilongs moving a lot faster. :p Nevermind then. Weilong v2 is perfect. And yeah like 15 more 3x3s... that's plenty of choices...

The cube can probably move faster, but my fingers can't yet :P

Idk about the v2, but a v1 is uncontrollable for me and I'm a lot faster than him.

I haven't noticed any problems. anyway a whole bunch of cubes should arrive later this week, i will see if any of them feels more comfortable than Weilong.
