Hi everyone, here's my progression thread! Had a Rubik's cube for a bit growing up and learned the beginner's method to solve it. Fast forward 10 years and I picked it up again after being inspired by some the middle-school students I was teaching at the time. It's been four years since then and once again I had forgotten how to solve the Rubik's cube! Since my new cube arrived last week I've been relearning and practicing the beginner's method again using cubeskills.com. I made this video solving it three times, and had an average time of 1 minute and 35 seconds.

Hoping to learn some more advanced methods for the 3x3 after a bit more time with the beginner's method, and then move on to solving 4x4 cubes, 5x5 cubes, or else anything I'm inspired to learn!

Recorded a 56.69 solve this morning using the beginner's method I learned from cubeskills!

The last week I've been practicing color neutrality and starting to solve for the cross on the bottom of the cube. It's been taking me more time to solve the cross, corner, and middle layer edges as a result and I've been getting disoriented frequently, but I know it will be good for solving in the long term. Did 3 solves using color neutrality+cross on bottom to record my progress on that as well, and I got an average of 1:09.94 per solve.

Now that I'm averaging around 90 seconds per solve using the color neutral beginner's method I'm planning on learning Roux and/or CFOP this next week, and seeing which method I like better.

I haven't seen someone using color neutral beginners yet, but I think it's good since you develop the habit of being color neutral early on! When you get to around sub 50 ish, you should start with beginner CFOP or Roux, that'll help you get faster! Anyway, good luck!
