Can anyone help to answer these questions regarding many aspects of cubing that is often discussed?

1. Overshooting is a subset of locking up? Yes/No/Maybe/Dunno

2. Undershooting is a subset of locking up? Yes/No/Maybe/Dunno

3. Too much corner cutting leads to overshooting? Yes/No/Maybe/Dunno

4. Tightness of tension is inversely proportional to turning speed?
Yes/No/Maybe/Dunno

5. Tightness of tension is inversely proportional to ease of popping? Yes/No/Maybe/Dunno

6. Tightness of tension is inversely proportional to ease of locking up?
Yes/No/Maybe/Dunno

7. Tighter tension is bad for corner cutting? Yes/No/Maybe/Dunno

8. Lubrication is good for turning speed? Yes/No/Maybe/Dunno

9. Lubrication has no relationship to popping? Yes/No/Maybe/Dunno

10. Lubrication is good to reduce locking up? Yes/No/Maybe/Dunno

11. Lubrication has no relationship to corner cutting? Yes/No/Maybe/Dunno

12. Too much lubrication leads to overshooting? Yes/No/Maybe/Dunno

I'll deal with the first few, because I'm interested in them.

1. Overshooting is a subset of locking up? Yes/No/Maybe/Dunno

2. Undershooting is a subset of locking up? Yes/No/Maybe/Dunno

3. Too much corner cutting leads to overshooting? Yes/No/Maybe/Dunno

No, no, no.

Consider the macro (R U). Here, you want to overshoot. If you undershoot, it locks up. Now consider (R' U). Here you want to undershoot. If you overshoot, it locks up. Overshoot and undershoot are tools you can use to avoid lockups--you consciously figure them into your execution.

And with that, 3) is clearly putting the cart before the horse.

1. Yes, if it is undesired
2. Yes, if it is undesired
3. Yes
4. No
5. No
6. No
7. Sometimes
8. Sometimes
9. Probably depends on the cube
10. It depends on how you are locking up. For example it will probably make overshooting more of a problem, but decrease some other kinds of lock ups.
11. In my experience it has little effect
12. This is probably true for most cubers

The format you provided doesn't really allow for any useful information to be conveyed as most of these situations are far from black and white.

Why not just expand on your maybe's?
(I'd help with your questions, but if I were to answer all my answers would be maybe or dunno :o )

1. Maybe
2. Maybe
3. No
Overshooting is proportional, the more you can corner cut, the more turn it takes to overshoot.
