How to get fast at yau on 7x7?
I have become more consistent with yau on 5x5 and 6x6 lately after half year of practice, averaging sub 1:25 and sub 2:30 respectively. With yau on 7x7, I sometimes get like 3:50 and sometimes 3:30 and I found myself harder to spam tps during first 3 edges compared to doing yau on 5x5 and 6x6. How to get faster and be more consistent on 7x7 with yau?

I just went to 2 comps back-to-back focusing on big cube events (567).
My PRs have came down from 1:20, 2:25 & 3:30 avg in 567 respectively, all the way to 1:15, 2:15 & 3:20 avg, which are significant improvements across all big cube events.

Which events shall I focus on grinding next?

I am considering to grind Megaminx, 3x3 or 4x4. Any suggestions?

It's kinda funny that I am now slightly faster on 5x5 than on megaminx. In the past 2 years, while my 5x5 average has dropped all the way from 1:50 down to 1:15, also switching from redux to yau, my megaminx average has been bottlenecked at 1:20.

I have tried to grind more megaminx lately, and I have now switched to fixed S2L order. While my average lingers at 1:15-1:20, I am now much more consistent than before.

I just went to a comp lately, mainly going for pyraminx. My original PR average in pyraminx was 7.14s, which is far behind of my 6s global.
In this comp, I had 2 rounds of pyraminx, 2 rounds of skewb, 2 rounds of clock, and also a round of megaminx.

Turn out the scramble in the first round of pyraminx was pretty nice, and I got a sub 5.5 average from not even sub 7. My first solve of the average, which is also my first solve in this comp was already my first sub 4 PR single in pyraminx, where my previous PR was 4.12s.
The scramble in the second round of pyraminx was mediocre, but I still manage to pull off another sub 6 average.

Apart from pyraminx, I also unexpectedly got double PR in megaminx and clock, where I haven't really practice that much lately.
For megaminx, my previous PR average was 1:18.46 from over 2 years ago, add also despite getting a +2 in my first solve which is the worst counting solve, I still got a new PR average by 2 seconds. It is also worth highlighting the improvement of my PR single in megaminx from 1:11.43 to 1:08.98, being my first sub 1:10 PR single in megaminx.
For clock, my PR average went from 15.09s to 13.57s, and also unexpectedly got into the second round. I think the improvement is mainly due to the hardware upgrade from the QiYi Magnetic Clock to the Estar Clock w bearings, which is a bit more consistent for my turning style.

Overall, my performance in this comp is pretty solid, not only breaking my Pyraminx PR average by a huge margin, but also a nice pyraminx PR single, as well as double PR in megaminx and clock.

I am considering to grind 6x6, where my hardware has been upgraded to the MoYu AoShi V4 double track UV, and it is my first time changing my 6x6 main since I first competed in 6x6 in 2023. My global is around 2:10-2:12, and I also get low 2 or even sub 2 occasionally during practice.
However, apart from 6x6, I would also like to have another events to grind in.

Double PB on FTO after learning it from an half-hour YouTube tutorial 4 days ago. When I first learnt it, I was averaging about 2mins, but very inconsistent. Then the next day I got to sub 1:30 avg, and the day that after I got to sub 1 avg. And now, in this avg I got a counting 42 which is quite nice for me, and the 32 single is PB for me by 2s. It was a smooth solve, but I feel like I can get even better time. This PB avg is just a bit slower than my 4x4 avg, which is sub 45, and I am still quite inconsistent as for now, especially when solving the centres. Centres have been my weaker part when doing Yau solves on big cubes. I believe that with more practice and improvements, I may get to sub 40 avg, or even sub 35 avg.
