I've just registered for a local comp which only offers 567 and megaminx, and I'm gonna focus on megaminx.

Cut-offs:
5x5 sub 2
6x6 sub 3:15
7x7 sub 5
Megaminx sub 2

I have no goals for 5x5 at all even though I know if I can do edge pairing faster I can get sub 2.
For 6&7 I just wanna get a PR single so to me it doesn't really matters that much
For Megaminx I hope I just don't get too nervous at comp and get a sub 2 PR avg

Should I just practice gigaminx more so I can get better at all these events together lol🤔

I think Mega and 5 should be fairly easy to reach cutoffs for. You could try doing mega and 7x7 since improving at a bigger cube usually transfers benefits to the smaller ones.
I know that the main part I have to improve in 5x5 is edge pairing. Edge pairing on 5x5 takes me over a minute and if I can do it in like 40-50s, I can make it sub 2.

Is it possible for me to get to sub 2 on 5x5 consistently in 2 weeks?

How to get fast on edge pairing? (I use redux)
Should I learn this

Not worth it. Use free slice instead, or use Yau5 for easier edges. I mean, it’s cool but I don’t think it’s as fast as just using normal freeslice

I’m using free slice but edge pairing still takes like 1:15 which is more than half of my solves. How to do edge pairing faster?
By taking your time and looking ahead. Don’t solve each edge as fast as you can. You should be actively looking for edges as you solve. From what I remember from a Kevin Hays tutorial, once you have scanned all the pieces you need for an edge, you don’t really need to look at it and instead start looking for pieces to another edge

My goal was to get sub 2 Megaminx PR avg in comp coming in 2 weeks, but now as I practice more and learn more CO and EP algs, I'm now aiming on getting sub 1:45 PR avg and get myself into Japan NR100.

watching top fast solvers do walk-through solves is a good idea, especially on YT where you can slow down playback speed as needed

Kevin Hays' YT playlist TUESDAY TIPS is a great resource

also, Feliks Zemdegs' CUBESKILLS on YT
Intermediate 5x5 videos:

Advanced 5x5 videos:

and as Kevin put it, good habits are important, and when you have dkne 1000s of solves you do them without using up time to think (or even look))

so if you want serious progress in 2wks then everyday do some Ao25 timed sessions on 5x5 as well as untimed "casual" solves where you practice making aure you're doing good habits and lookahead without freaking out about how much time is passing 😲🙏😎
