Just got 1:08.30 PB on my Pi Cube Premium DaYan v2 Megaminx M.
However, I found it a bit unstable, and I sometimes accidentally turn different faces. Also I found it very easy to overshoot on it. Should I get this magnetic core one, to me it’s nearly $45 including free premium shipping, while a set of kit is $32.
I end up paying $40 for a Pi Cube Premium Core Magnetic DaYan v2 Megaminx M, including having black pieces swapped with grey, as well as premium shipping to Hong Kong.

Got PB on my Pi Cube Premium Core Magnetic DaYan TengYun M 2x2, my new main over my Pi Cube Premium UV Coated Valk 2 M with custom MGC Springs

Scram: U R F U R' U2 R F' R' U' F2

Just received my GAN 12 M Maglev UV Coated and it has now become my new main over the tornado v3. I have tried lots of different settings, and I found YiHeng Wang’s settings make the most sense to me. Some settings including the default settings just make it feels very weird to use. I’m now on YiHeng Wang’s settings and it feels like the tianma x3 snap (which was my main at some point), but smoother and more stable.

Still trying to setup my WRM V9 to make the magnets strength feels reasonably weak enough to avoid the magnets to cause catching issues, right now it sometimes just stops itself during solves (like when doing PLL) as the magnets are just unreasonably strong, and it just hurt my fingers. Right now I’m not very sure about how to fix it as the magnets strength isn’t adjustable at all. I just can’t believe it’s a 3x3 and the magnets feel strong like a Bell v1.

Dropped my 3x3 PR avg by more than 5 seconds to sub 19 avg (even though I focused on 2x2 rather than 3x3 for this comp). I tried to relax and turn slowly as I knew that tps in comp is usually higher than normal, and slowing down myself can actually balance out and gives better result overall. However, I failed to handle my nerves for 2x2. I practiced 2x2 a lot lately, and I knew that getting a 4.5 avg as usual is good enough to get myself into semifinal. However, I was too nervous and I got a 6 in my first solve, as well as a +2 in my fourth solve. I got 2 huge lockups on my Valk and later I found that the tension was too loose. As I’ve tightened it a bit, it’s now amazing. However, these ruin my average and sadly I didn’t make 2x2 semifinal at this comp. For 3x3, I just hoped for a sub 20 avg, and I ended up getting a sub 19 avg. when I was on my last solve, I knew that I need a sub 19.9 to get a sub 20 avg, but I stayed calm and slowed down my turning. When I slapped the timer, I thought it was like a 21 and I ended up getting a 16. This counting 16 essentially made my sub 19 PR avg possible. I guess turning slower made my lookahead better and pause less during solves. Also it’s worth mentioning that I got like 3 T perms which is kinda funny and lucky (I got like 3 Ub perms in my last comp tho, still it was not even a sub 24 avg).

if it helps in this situation,
after I modded my WRM 2019 with ball-core and maglev from an RS3M Super, I could barely feel the core-corner magnets...
so I stacked 3×1mm N50 magnets on each of the corner stalks and that made a very nice positive change in thw feel and tuening of the cube

Perhaps it can similarly help balance out the repelling edge-feet magnets in your Weilong v9 and thereby let you loosen tensions and/or center travel distance, which would allow more distance between the standard edge-corner magnets so they would not have quite as much strength to impact the turning

And if you end up not liking the way it adds to the turning, they are only stacked and can easily be removed☑️

Hope this helps

Now I have switched to Matty’s settings and it works even better for me, magnets strength from triangle strong to triangle medium, and elasticity a click stronger. Same tension at 3. It flows really well, completely different from how locky and uncontrollable it was ootb.

I mean like how to make the core magnets weaker, or maybe at least like feels weaker and less bumpy. I know once it’s fixed it can beat my tornado v3 and gan12 and become my new main

Edit: Waitt do you mean like stacking magnets on the edges but not corners and loosing it up?

I only stacked 3×1mm N50 magnets onto the built-in corner magnets... My WRM 2019 dies not have edge magnets *sigh*

As for loosening the cube...
With stronger core-corner magnets that adds to the overall stability of the cube

This means you can loosen the scres on each center piece and still have plenty stability

I'm gonna focus on 2x2 and Skewb in Worlds.

2x2:
I wanna learn full CLL and get official sub 5 or even sub 4 avg in Worlds. Now I'm not very consistently sub 4.5 with PBL. I can sometimes recognize the CLL case and predict whether It gives Y or T or a skip.
I found this to be a very nice intro to CLL, but actually I found that I only know like 10 CLL algs including Y & T , and I found that sune & antisune cases are very hard to recognize, especially for EG2/Anti-CLL.

Skewb:
I need to be consistently sub 4 to get into second round. I found that even though I can plan out the whole first layer during inspection, it takes time for me to do rotations before doing the next moves. Does anyone know how to do skewb rotations quickly, or if I can try to insert corners from different angles? Also I would like to ask if I should learn full L5C? There aren't that much L5C cases but I found these very hard to recognize and finger tricks, especially swirl perms. And I can't even do sub 2.5 X perms atm..

I'm talking about WRM V9 not WRM 2019,
My Pi Cube Premium ball-core GTS3 M Maglev works completely fine for 3bld.

yes I know YOU have been talking about your Weilong v9... I read that oart in your post...

I am talking about MY WRM 2019 that I modded to have core-corner magnetization, and having experience with the size and the "not-very-strong" core-corner magnetization that Moyu provides with its Ball-core and stock corner feet magnets, I thought the tip could help, as explained in above replies...

Ok I think I'll try to make the edge to core magnets stronger in my WRM V9 tonight, hope that works
BTW I really recommend you to make your WRM 2019 maglev, it helps a lot with stability as well as corner cutting

Hopefully it will make a positive difference in the Wv9 for you

My main thought was that by stacking magnets on the corner feet you will increase the overall magnetic strength in the puzzle (in terms of adding stability) and since magnet strength decreases with distance, you should be able to loosen the screws to achieve better turning and feel without losing stability and controllablility

And my WRM 2019 is maglev 😎 I bought a Ball-core RS3M Super extra and scaveged the BC and maglev from it to mod my WRM 2019 😀 and then added corner magnet pieces from a Maru kit to the corner feet, and stacked 3×1mm N50's on the corner feet as well... it is sweeeet

I had thought to alao add 4×3mm N35's as repelling edge magnets but the edge feet would take a lot of finicky detail work to make that happen so I gave up on that part...

Anyone good at 2x2 or skewb here?
@Zayn Khanani plz

After properly lubing my GAN 12, I found Matty's settings a bit too slow for me and I have switched back to YiHang Wang's settings again.
