Fingertricking a 4x4x4 and lubing

Is there a different way to fingertrick a 4x4x4 or something because i'm having some massive problems trying to do any algorithm with fingertricks. maybe i just need stronger fingers or something but the cube seems to jam a bit..

And also how do I lube the cube? I'm going to buy some cube lube one day and wonder how.. :confused:

Practice practice practice! <-- It actually helps loosen the cube up so that fingertricks become easier.

In, short - you can do finger tricks much like you would on a 3x3x3 but you've to be more precise with your movements or it'll jam. It wont work well on a stiff cube.

I lubed my 4x4x4 with CRC 808 Silicone Spray. I just a few slices so that the corners are exposed and spray a bit on those bits. Then I rotate the slices to rub the silicone around. I repeat that process with every side until all the pieces have silicone lubricant on them without actually disassembling the cube.

I did stupid stuff like leave it near a window in the sun for over 6 months and then replaced all the stickers. After a little bit of silicone I'm fairly confident that it's speedcubing worthy. I just don't practice enough to get faster at it

last question, you apply it to each of the 12 slices right? or just the 8 corners?

I apply it to all slices by doing 1/8th turns on the 3 possible "slice" turns and spray the corner, while turning the slices a bit to work in the silicone....
