Fingers used for R2 and L2

How do you sufficiently do R2 and L2 moves? i can do U2 and D2 fine, but i always get slowed down by R2 moves.

I put my thumb on U or F of the face, every other finger except the pinky on the opposite face, and give it a flick away. I catch it at R2/L2. My cubes normally spin a half twist with a strong flick.

its too hard to say... i think it heavily depends on the next move after the R2/L2, and the move immediately before it... Remember that nice flow in algorithms is very important... so not all R2's are the same motion

Depends on the previous/next move, if it's a U or a U' I will start with fingers at bottom and turn the R2/L2 the way round so I can slide into the U/U'
Sometimes I roll the R from my ring finger to my middle and index finger.
