I finally did it. I used my type c black diy
times:
10: 00:40.32
9: 00:36.87
8: 00:43.85
7: 00:41.92
6: 00:36.96
5: 00:36.57
4: 00:42.01
3: 00:41.62
2: 00:37.43
1: 00:34.50
average= 39.21

Lol I'm trying to pass that barrier still :(... Lol best av is like 41.90 but it was totally rolled so it doesn't really count does it :P

Nice man! You finally did! I haven't practiced this since forever, with BLD and exploring new methods going on. I had a 41s average like 2 month ago and felt that I was going to break 40 that week, for some reason, I just stopped practicing. By the end of this year, I will go back to it and get sub-35!

Mee too... I was thingking it would be easy to pass 40 sec barrier after I can do under 50...but...I was sooo hard... now I'm sub 40 and still struggle for BLD ( I hate parity..and I'm still confuse to undo the setup move)

Congrats!!
I right now am not timing myself as learning all the PLL's and some more OLL's and my recognition times are horrendous.
But recorded a 39 sec non lucky solve using 4-look LL a few days ago.
My avg would be much higher than 40 though..

I am stuck at the 40 second barrier. But I still use a complete beginners method-
cross(about 10 steps)
corners, one by one
middle layer, each piece one by one
2-Look OLL
2-Look PLL

Sometimes I have to peform a 3-look OLL cuz I only know 5 algorithms, not including Mirroed ones though.

If I learned Fridich my times would go down, but Im so busy....

Edit: OH yeah, an Congragulations

i envy u all.... it's been a month and I still cant surpassed 60 sec barrier..

do you think my 4 look LL is the problem or my finger speed is the problem?

I have between 3 and 5 step LL depending on CO and PLL because I don't know all the algs for either, and I can still get fairly consistent sub-35 averages. Just practice your fingertricks and look ahead.

yeah fingerspeed will be the issue. search these forums for tips on lookahead. a DIY cube is also good for getting faster times, and you will find a reasonably large drop comes with getting one. this in turn will spur you on to get faster :)
i recommend a type A, as they are reliably good. if you want to take your chances, a modded A II with an A core is very, very nice, but some end up crap. search around if you dont know what im on about...
