I tried using cll on 2x2 for all solves for the first time on the weekly competition and failed miserably

Last solve had an easy 2x2 first layer on white, that led to LL skip.
But it took me an eternity to understand what happened, I did like U, U', U, U' and got +2 ;_;

final time was 5.25+

this is the solution:

 Twizzle link
 Setup
R U' R2 U2 F U2 R2 U' R2 U2 R
 Moves
x' y2 R U2 R U' R' U R U

Ok so I concluded that I'm bad at speedsolving.

My problem is lookahead. almost half of my solve is pauses. that's really bad.

I have the potential to be sub9

Do what Chris Olson suggested. Take 1 week off of speedsolving, and just do slow, untimed solves, and make sure to focus on lookahead. Try to have no pauses/minimal pauses during F2L. I did that, and it did help my lookahead.

Thanks. I'll watch that video

weekly competition. good 2x2 average with cll, (I knew just one case, the other ones were 2look and one was LL skip)

1. (6.83)
2. 5.01
3. 5.03
4. 6.25
5. (3.01)
5.43 Average of 5

3x3oh. very good average for me. I'm getting consistent. this is overall pb2 avg5 for me.
I had one MW and one ZBLL in this avg

1. (40.70)
2. 46.45
3. 40.91
4. 41.50
5. (49.95)
42.95 Average of 5

3x3 avg5 was not even sub20. cube locked up so much and my lookahead was atrocious

I was doing some untimed 4x4 solves

I got an easy wv case that led into an LL skip =\

what is the probability of that??

that adds to my list of untimed LL skips

when I have a timed LL skip it will be the first one 🥲

ok so a quick update:

this month was a complete fail for me in "learning algs" matter

I wanted to learn 152 algs, but learnt only 31 this month.

as I didn't drill them so frequently, I might even forget the ones I learnt

So I'm kinda changing my goal till the end of the month.

I entered in a race with @JDAW6 and I will try to get a sub17 avg100 soon.
So I'll be grinding 3x3 and I want to learn the rest few of wv and coll that I knew but forgot

and I have to improve my lookahead, because I do long pauses looking for pairs.

after I get a sub17 avg100 I'll go back to learning the rest of the algs of the spreadsheet I posted before

next month I'll be living in another city and I'll finally buy my cubes.

I'm planning in getting 2x2 to 7x7, pyra, mega and square1
all magnetic, and the 3x3 maglev.

after I move I'll buy a camera and a ssd hard drive so I'll film my session more frequently.
there is no way I'm going to miss my next sub10 single lol

I'll get this one: MoYu Classroom RS3M MagLev 3x3x3 Magnetic Magic Cube Stickerless
9 dollars
a lil bit confused...
"Cubing Classroom" = MEILONG
but RS3M = MOYU
and the MagLev version at TheCubicle is $14 (2021) or $15 for RS3M Super

anyhoo, maglev will help with a bit extra speed due to no friction contact points vs springs, but extra stability and smooth turning flow comes from the core-corner magnets 😎

so if you want an RS3M then my 2¢ just get the Ball-core RS3M Super ($20 at TC but $12.55 at CUBEZZ.COM)
