This is why people are wrong when they say jperm is bad. He has a wide variety of videos in every event that covers many different levels of expertise.
While I agree that JPerm is a pretty good youcuber, I still think some of his videos are a bit biased and opinion based. For example, because he uses Yau, he says that Yau is a better method than other 4x4 methods like Hoya, K4, etc. This might mislead new cubers into thinking that Yau is the only viable option for 4x4. They shouldn't choose new methods by watching a person's opinions as opinions are always biased, they should instead take a look at all of the methods, try them out, and decide for themselves what the most suitable method for them is.

Yeah that is definitely true. While I had wanted to do Yau already, I feel like his opinions can be biased and may make already popular methods more popular so that less popular methods can't be developed as much. (like for his 3x3 method he said Roux and CFOP are the best and he uses CFOP)

today I didn't have much time to practice.

I had lots of things to do during the day but around 4pm I was waiting a friend because we had something to do and I grabbed my 2x2 to learn some cll

I started with pi case because I find the recognition pretty easy and I learned almost all of it, including auf for some cases

I drilled on jperm cll trainer, pretty useful tool

tomorrow I will try to learn the rest of pi cll and next I will learn the H cases

I can't get much faster with ortega, but I hope to lower my times learning cll and practicing a ton

Do you know if the chances of a pll skip or oll skip are different if you are on 4x4?
Never seem anything about it
But there is a probabilities thread that you can ask this and let us know😁

Do you know if the chances of a pll skip or oll skip are different if you are on 4x4?
Yes of course, on 4x4 you have 50% chance you get OLL parity and 50% chance you get PLL parity. This means you are twice as unlikely to get either of them, and four times as unlikely to get a last layer skip.

I didn't time my solves today, just did some casual solves

BUT

I got chicken hearts for dinner :3

I forgot to take the picture of my food, but it looks like this

have you guys tried? it's so delicioooooous

it's pretty common to eat this in Brazil, specially on barbacues

Tomorrow I will finally have some time after work to solve and I will do my events on the weekly online competition

I will do 2x2, 3x3, 4x4, oh, Pyra and skewb

I want to do mega eventually but my pb is like over 6 minutes and I don't know what I'm doing on last layer lol

I don't know 4lll yet and my f2l and s2l are really bad

For your Yau example, most people/speedcubers use Yau anyway.

So then why do you use CFOP?
I don't know about him but I tend to use the method the majority of people uses
mainly because the probability I will succeed will be greater and in second place because there will be much more material about a method that most of people uses

I know petrus, roux, zz, mehta, but I didn't dive deeper with those yet. I plan to get faster with those methods in the future, but I practiced cfop astronomically more

for hoya vs yau I chose yau for the above reasons and I don't see myself switching to hoya

for other events I do the same, find a method that is used the most and learn from videos.

I tried learning human kociemba and heise in the past but there is so little explanation about it that I gave up. but maybe I can try learning more about them in the future because I find it brilliant how each method is devised

for 4x4 there is tripod method that I find interesting but I don't think it is worth it. you must learn over 100 algs for advanced, when you could just learn parity algs and use more developed methods

I just got pll skip on 4x4. Last layer was sune, with no parities
=o

on weekly comp

currently faster at 3x3 than pyra ;_;

current 3x3 pbs: 8.8 single, 13.4 avg5
current pyra pbs: 9.48 single, 13.42 avg5

lol

I need to practice more

so I competed on weekly comp today.

I'm happy with 3x3 and pyra.
2x2, 4x4, oh and skewb were absolutely terrible =\
so many mistakes, clicking the wrong tab and having dnf, dropping the cube, pauses. a nightmare

but with 3x3 it was a good average since a long time. I expect a sub15 soon on comp, but I need to keep practicing
pyra was very lucky but I'm really bad at it atm. I'm gonna take a shower, make something to eat and do some averages on those events on cubedesk, then I'll try to learn some algs

I need to keep learning 2x2 cll, I'm finishing learning pi cll, printed out the pi subset and made some notes on auf, just need to drill more to remember faster on the trainer. I got the auf for all the pi cases when I was learning each case

for skewb I need to learn intermediate

for 4x4 I need to practice yau on slow solves and get better efficiency and watch some videos

and for pyra just grind more. I'll learn l4e but not a priority for now

I didn't start learning mega 4lll but I plan to, soon
