FASTEST PLAYER WINS $500 Prize

Should this be reported as advertising? I suppose not.

No, this is most likely someone that want to introduce a puzzle, would be nice to add this as unofficial event in a regular competition (for the price money).

I would suggest that he check which competitions in his region, and contact organizers. Maybe there is room for an unofficial event. Personally I like to support inventors to try out puzzles, that is if there is room in schedule

I've gotten two separate emails from this person that are identical. He seems to just be spamming anyone who can be attached to the Rubik's cube.

If the challenge is to solve a new puzzle, I'd be willing to try. I'm based in CA and I'm not the fastest at the regular cube but I can figure out new puzzles fairly well.

^That's how rumors are started.

Someone posted it is just as an idea of why the thread was made and why fast cubers are wanted, but in several post after it's mentioned as if the TS said it was a possibility.

Or maybe I'm wrong... (<----- one of the statements that encourage people to reply, although the poster does not want them to.)

Why does everyone assume this is real? They basically want you to send personal information without any real details. I'm not saying it's a scam, I'm just saying be skeptical until details are given

A grand total of THREE people posted before you. Since when was that "everyone". Deary me the stupidity...

Actually, by everyone, I was not referring the whole forum/people posting after me as you idiotically assumed. "Everyone" can be correctly used to describe the people posting above me.

I would be madder at you calling me an idiot but I know that this is the only place you can actually act out. If you tried this any where else you would either get fired or get your ass kicked. You try and bully people around on the forums because you know that in real life, your pathetic. You would never say this directly to anyone's face so you can just go right along doing what you do and make these forums an even less pleasant place to be.

Firstly: I didn't call you an idiot.
Secondly: I don't agree that "everyone" can correctly be used to a mere 3 people on a forum of thousands. Or at least, not the way you said it.
Thirdly: You have clearly never met me. I can assure you I act the same way in real life, but the funny thing is I have never had my "ass kicked". I guess that's because I'm smart and I know who and when to say things to in person. On the internet it's much harder to judge people so I have more freedom in who I can insult. But I needn't worry much anyway; I'm a very fast runner, and I'm also rather strong (for my size, anyway). I doubt I have little to worry about from you.

(Unfortunately I cannot think of an explicit example where I called someone some form of insult while in the US so I'm not sure if anyone here can back me up on that).

Now you haven't thought of the billions of people that live in the world. He clearly didn't mean that when he said everyone. So, everyone could have meant 3 people or 4 billion people. There is no way to tell, but obviously, by process of elimination, 3 people would have been what he was talking about. He apparently didn't mean the 4 billion people, the 4 billion people probably didn't even know about this thread, or even the whole forum.

On top of that, "Deary me, the stupidity" could have been an insult. 3 people did mean everyone, and you were the only one to say anything about it because you are the only one that didn't see how it was.

I am a very fast runner too, and am very strong compared to my size, but very weak compared to all my friends. I am very skinny, and have little muscle and have never had my ass kicked either.

You went to far this time Dene. Now stop this bickering.

Well, the person said he had a "new game", and he's looking for "rubik's players". And we've established he's an inventor. So while he doesn't necessarily use the same terminology, I think it's clear he has a new puzzle, or perhaps some logic board game that he thinks would be good for cubers.

Should I call your credit card or your pin?

I thought the exact same thing.

youll feel much better afterwords xP.

This is a very interesting phrase in that there are two ways of correcting it, and they both sort of work. You could do, "You'll feel much better afterwards, which is what I think you meant, but you could also make it, "You'll feel much better after words," which makes less sense but still works. Cool.

EDIT: @ jms_gears1: I just realized that could've come off the wrong way, but let me clarify that it was not my intent to nitpick about your spelling. Your post was coherent and it was easy to tell your intent. I just thought that was pretty cool.
