I just bought a new 3x3x3 rubik's cube and it turned verry hard,so I sanded it and lubricated, but it's still hard to turn , so can someone help me? ;)

don't use rubik's brand storebought cubes. they will never be better than 7.5 out of ten. buy a DIY (do it yourself) cube. read this thread to decide which kind you want. it contains comparisons (quite accurate ones, in fact) between the major brands of DIYs. i recently bought a puzzleproz type A, and am very pleased. although it doesn't say so on the puzzleproz site, all of their cubes come with silicone lube.

---however---

if you insist on using a storebought, this is what you should do:
a) use it often in order to "break it in"
b) lube it with silicone. if you don't have silicone, use vaseline (petrolem jelly.) other lubes don't work very well.

I used CRC on my store bought and just used it daily, after a week it was as smooth as it was going to get. Definitely get a DIY though, eventually, it'll be smoother right out of the box than the store bought and after a few days of fiddling with the tension it will be amazing.

Hahaha... I love how people just give up on their storeboughts so quickly...
Seriously, I'm not kidding. Mine took 2 YEARS to break in completely. It was an amazing cube that got me to sub 20, etc. That's of course, until some maniac snatched it out of my hand and chucked it at a wall... Phil Thomas (One of really speedy dudes) uses a storebought, and his was even looser and smoother than mine.

Force the cube to cut corners, spin each side like CRAZY. This will eventually get a storebought to an amazing state. Seriously, some storeboughts are even better than DIYS.

I have to agree with JHong. My storebought is as smooth, if not smoother, than my DIYs. Mine didn't take 2 years to break in though. A few months perhaps, but not years. Just continue to use it and lube it every few months.
