What if we used GPUs instead of CPUs for generating algs? Would that make tools like Cube Explorer faster?

i did some research and i think GPUs are really good at analyzing large amounts of data and i kinda doubt cube explorer does that so maybe that's a bad idea.however you asked this question so you probably know better and if you think it's better then i think you should try

I don't think it would make it faster but it's worth a try

GPUs are really good at matrix and very parallel instructions. If you are doing something like brute force search on a move tree the GPU won't help.

iterative deepening A* (IDA*) is often the algorithm used for cube solving algorithms

here's a paper where they did IDA* on gpu: https://ojs.aaai.org/index.php/SOCS/article/view/18440

they were able to get a 5x speedup compared to cpu
