I have done a few post since I've been here, but not many, so I thought I would I introduce myself.
My cubing story started in fall of 2006, I bought a 25th anniversary cube from Walgreens. I thought that I would try to solve it, I spent around a day on it, and then gave up. In the summer of 2007, I picked up the cube again and went on the rubiks.com site, I found the Tyson Mao video, which helped me learn the first 2 layers. I couldn't figure out the last layer, and my stickers were wearing thin, so I gave up again. Around January of February of 2008, a lot of kids started bringing cubes to school and solving them, so I bought a new cube and learned the last layer. I was semi-interested in solving it but never really got faster, and only did it every once in awhile. That fall, I started to get back into it again, but the Vaseline that I put in my cube broke the core. That Christmas, I got a new rubiks cube, and left it at my grandparents. So later on that spring, I convinced my sister to let me have her cube and she could get the other one at my grandparents. And since then I have been speedcubing. I now know intuitive F2l and a few OLL's and PLL's, I am slowly but surely getting faster. I currently average around 50 seconds, and my goal is to average sub-40 by next summer.
I hope you enjoyed my story and didn't find it too long, I really look forward to getting more involved in the forums in the future.
