You mean sub30 avg or PB? My first goal right now is averaging sub30 consistently, and I got really close today. I fumbled real hard on two solves giving me a 38s and a 48s, destroyed all my sub30's
im in the 50 sec to 1:20 range (sOooo SlOwwWww) and my Pb is like 48 seconds, newb here, ive been cubing for 3 weeks. im currently look-ahead, or tracking F2L pieces, or whatever. it'll improve your times greatly, they say.
Kingpin, the way to do it is to go incredibly slow so you can find/track pairs as you are solving one pair. A lot of people get the F2L algs into muscle memory and they can flawlessly solve a pair while looking for another. It's a bit tougher doing it that was intuitively as normally you have 3 moves you can finish solving a pair to look ahead (commonly RUR', RU'R, same w/L moves) at least for me when I do it intuitively. However, it will be no different when I solve F2L intuitively but out of muscle memory than the people who memorise the F2L algs and do it out of muscle memory. I'm to that point with quite a few F2L cases where I can just keep looking at the cube rather than make sure I'm pairing correctly.
Somebody else said this, not sure who. One of the keys is self-confidence in knowing that you aren't screwing up the pair you are working on so you can look ahead. That's so true, but I'm not quite as confident as some of the top cubers are (which explains my times )
all you need to know about F2l has already been mentioned,
practice & look ahead, "how to be sub 20" (sticky) has a few tips
& you should've used the search bar before making this thread
