F2L using beginners method?

Hi,

I just started using the Fridrich method, but the F2L is always holding me up. I'm much faster using the beginners method to solve the F2L, than I use the rest of the method normally. Is it a good idea or should I practise more on the normal Fridrich F2L?

Thanks!

New here, hoping this is ok to post. :)

My advice, from beginner to beginner doing the same thing, is just don't even time yourself. Do the moves at a pace which is comfortable to you and allows you to understand them, rather than trying to rush against the clock.

I also use F2L in conjunction with a beginner method to finish, I just started learning it about three days ago, and decided to not worry about time for a while and just learn... now that I've mostly learned the moves after three days, I started timing myself again, and I'm already a whole minute faster than I was without F2L. So just relax and practice, too much pressure on yourself can make it harder to absorb the moves you are doing.
