Hi guys..

I just wanted to request advanced cubers.. say who avg <15.. to post 2-3 example solves.. so that people like me who are around 20sec can gain some tips in cross+first pair, F2L etc.

Like Zane_C said, you're probably solving just fine, but need to look-ahead better to have more tps. I don't mind doing one though, so here it is:

Scramble (You didn't provide one so I just used generated one): B' U2 L B' F' D2 L B R2 U B U2 B U B2 F D' U' R' U2 B' R U B' L' (green on front, white on top)

Cross (Orange on front, yellow on top in this case): D' L B F2 R' D'
Pair1 (I see the pre-made red/green pair): U L U' L'
Pair2 (Saw green/orange while solving the previous pair): U' R U R' U' y L U' L'
Pair3 (Saw blue/orange): U' R L' U L (easy spot on blue/red so keep solving without putting R face back)
Pair4: U' R' U' R U R' U' y' R' U' R
OLL
PLL

Nothing fancy, just normal solving. There's probably algorithms I could have used for something but I don't really know any f2l algorithms. For what it's worth, I solve pretty much how I used to solve when I was struggling with sub20. The only difference is that I do it faster now since my look-ahead is much better. You can learn some nice tricks for f2l or whatever you want, but in the end, that won't make the difference from sub20 to sub15.

Good luck.

Why don't you take a look at Faz's WR solves?

They come with scramble, solution and slomo video.
You may have to search the forum a bit to fit the pieces together but then you have your ultimate examples.

EDIT: there was even a thread launched not so long ago with some very detailled solves.

They're brilliant, but the more the better I think.

Do you mean Escher's F2L tutorials? They were also great, but what I like about the request in this thread is that is could show what people actually do during solves. Escher pointed out in his threads that he wouldn't do all the things he demonstrated in actual speed solves.

Yeah, the Escher solves, while interesting, were not realistic. When I go through example solves I'm surprised how simple they are. Someone solving it in 10 seconds isn't doing much different than what I'm doing at 25, except they turn faster, don't have pauses and are much smoother. Not that I wouldn't like to look at some example solves. For a while I was using some really ineffecient moves when I was around 35 seconds.

Just saw this in another thread... 6.96 by 'Yes we Can'.
So we can do this as well.. paste it here whenever we see it in another thread.

Merge threads?

Anyway, random scramble from qqtimer.

You could use F (U R U' R') F' (R U' R') for that.

EDIT: If you do it right, you will end up with Niklas LL :D

Faz: where are your F moves during F2L man? :P

Edit: some solve:

1. 9.27 B2 U R U2 L2 F R' U B2 D2 L2 F' U' B2 U D' R U2 L2 U' L' U D' B' U
z2 (yellow up green front)
DLR'uR'u' (to preserve pair)
y U2 L' U L I don't know why I rotate it to be LU instead of RU, I should work on this
y' U L' U L y' U' L' U L (stupid cube rotation again, could've solved the pair without a single one)
y U' R' U R U' R' U' R
U' L' U L d' L U L' nice 0 edge
R U2 R2 F R F' U2 R' F R F'
R U R' y' R2 u' R U' R' U R' u R2 U'
58 moves = 6.25 tps

Conclusion: doing cube rotations smarter can get me more RU and just less rotations.
