ES 4x4x4 too loose?

When I first got my EastSheen 4x4x4 I was real happy with it but as I've played with it a bit more I'm discovering I think it's TOO loose. It's very tough to keep the outer edges lined up for making my next turns and I keep locking up...

Any suggestions? Should I get a revenge or a different brand? I've read good things about ES cubes and overall I really do like it, but it just seems to me like the puppy love is wearing off.

Is it also possible I should just get better at it and I'll learn how to "tame" the cube from feeling like it's too loose?

If you can't tighten the screws anymore the only thing that worked for me is taking it apart and sanding down the core. A revenge won't be much better when its broken in.

After mine popped and I couldn't get it back right, I built it back from scratch and it works fine, but it's not the same as before. It's too loose now and seems to lock a lot, even with the screws real tight.

I might just buy another. I wouldn't buy a revenge, you probably won't like it. I fell out with mine as soon as got my eastsheen.

Same thing with me...I'll probably buy a new won...what's 10 bucks between cubes?

I was out xmas shopping this afternoon and saw an Eastsheen 4x4x4 ina gadget shop and had to buy if after saying that earlier.

The green side of my other one has almost turned white, lol.

edit - just done a couple of solves with the brand new one and it's 'really' stiff. like, a lot stiffer that my other one was when new. I can't even do a finger flick for a U turn. Hope it gets better...

thanks for the ideas, ill give the screws another go.

what's that about sanding down the core? does sanding the core make it stiffer?
