This is a revived concept I have done twice already, has been my most successful comp concept yet. Here is the TLDR:

BASIC CONCEPT TLDR:
  • Similar to a standard LMS (last man standing) comp, with the worst person/s being eliminated each round.
  • However, if you perform well in a round, your average will be handicapped, and if you perform bad, your average will be given a benefit.
  • The benefit will take the form of the following: the nth best people will have their worst three solves averaged, the nth worst people will have their best three solves averaged (depending on the round specifics). Middle of the pack has standard ao5. It scales based on your performance in the previous round, it is not a set fixture.
  • Each round you will complete 5-7 solves, depending on the nature of the round (3-5 for larger events).
  • Strategy is useful; do you go well and be safe but have next round handicap, or do worse and be safe next round? This gets more and more important later on.
  • You will know your place in the previous round, but not other's places, making strategic prediction hard.
  • NO TIME EXTENSIONS!!!
You will have a week to post results, failure to do so gets you eliminated.

This time around I want to see strategy. I want to see people deliberately do bad to boost their chances of surviving. You have more chance of winning if you play risky than if you play well.

Once again, I am letting you suggest events; three competitors needed for an event to happen. Registration form here: https://forms.gle/P2VpHchFBueQCcTa7
Glhf and all that. Remember, strategy is key to this one.

Confirmed events (3 or more competitors):
  1. 3x3
  2. 2x2
  3. 4x4
  4. Skewb
  5. Pyra
  6. Mirror
  7. Clock
  8. Squan
Other proposed events (these will be sorted out after:
  1. OH (I can't believe I forgot this)
  2. Blind events are ruled out sorry, tried it previously but because this comp relies on averages everyone was immediately DNFing).
Registration remains open, register or I trade your kidney for a barrel of crude.

Something I did last time around, will continue since we have repeat competitors, was in comp elo ranking (single only) current standings are as follows:

Entry is still open until my new 2x2 & 4x4 turns up (RRP $56, purchased for $14 (go buy from my store now (shameless plug I know)))
I registered
