I was wondering who uses their dominant (main) hand, i.e. the one that you write with, and who uses their non-dominant hand for OH cubing. Please post the option you chose AND if you use your right or left hand for OH cubing. Also post your usual OH average.

Thanks!

I chose dominant for the poll, and I use my right hand. My normal OH average is around 35-40 <_<.

Seems like the right hand rules here :-)

I use my right hand and my best average of 50 is 23.59 (reaching 21 seconds averages of 12 more and more often).

Right hand power ! :D

I use my left (non-dominant) hand. I get times in the low to mid forties. With my right hand, I'm usually about ten to fifteen seconds slower.

I started with my left hand because when I was learning, my right thumb would hurt when I did OH right-handed. Also, I wanted to juggle with OH cubing, and I'm a little bit better at juggling with my right hand. I often cube with my left hand when I'm doing something else with my right hand.

I use my dominant hand. I just started out that way because I figured it made more sense than my undominant
hand. I've only been practicing OH for around a month or less so I still average 1 min, I finally got a sub-60 avg yesterday. I don't see any pros or cons of using either hand. Once you start training with a specific hand it becomes natural. I tried doing my left hand and it is starting to become as natural as when I do OH with my [dominant] right hand.

I throw left handed, write right handed. When I solve w/ two handed, I mainly hold with my left, solve with my right. When I OH solve, I use my left. Kind of wierd.

Well I havent been into much of OH cubing but have been doing it regularly for a week now.I am averaging around 1min 30 secs with my right hand.
Surprising though considering the fact that I am average around 55 secs with 3 months of practise on my double handed!

I practice so little, that I actually use both, alternating back and forth each day. I think that OH would be interesting to practice ... but I'm lazy. Somebody asked if I could do it, I said, surely, but not this fast, doing a sub 20s solve after the comment was made. Of course, he also said that the WR OH solve was like 7s ..., I asked, 17, or 27? "No, seven" ... I just said ohh, and dropped the subject.

"No, seven" ... I just said ohh, and dropped the subject.

I find it so funny when people come up to me when they see me with a cube and are like "my friend can do it in 10 seconds", just to make me feel amazed or something, when I know they are BS'ing me. OH record of 7 seconds.....that guy overdid his lie...

It's easy to tell...they drop "world record" without ever mentioning the word "average". But then again, most people don't use "average", so it's pretty awkward when random people ask how fast you are.

I'm right handed and i use my left (non-dominant).

Before, i used to practice OH with right, but then i switched so my left hand would get stronger. My left hand got stronger, so it stuck.

I write with my left, throw with my right, and for all....power things I use my right. For all dexterity things, such as eating and writing, i use my left. I dont' know whether thats dominant or not. Woo for left hand.
