Does the color of the plastic really make a difference?

Just wondering because I'm about to buy an A-V, F-II, and A-II from popbuying and just wanted to know if theres a noticeable difference between the black and white plastics. Or maybe you have some firsthand experience with difference colored cubes you want to share :)

Yay! You're buying the cubes I recommended!

The color of plastic only makes a difference for recognition. You have to figure it out for yourself.

Also, I'm pretty sure that there have been other threads about this, so next time try to search.

Most people will say that the difference from individual cube to individual cube outweigh the differences from plastic colour to plastic colour.

A noticable exception is the Type F cubes. The blue F-I is apparantly better than the others, and the white F-II is apparantly harder than the black F-II.

I would personally choose the colour of plastic you prefer the look of.

Oh, I forgot to search lol, I still haven't decided which one to go with though lol, the colors are all cool :P

Noticable, but not significant.

The differences are negligible.
I have 5 different type C colours, and they all perform differently.

Yes and no.

I've tried both black and white miniC (mini type C) 333 cubes and by testing out a few algs like the T-permutation with eyes closed, I felt a slight difference, but not one that would severely alter an average or anything. That's why I bought the white one XD.

Plus, colour recognition on a differently coloured plastic seems to be different considering the contrast between sticker shade and plastic shade changes considerably from, say, a black cube and a white cube.

This might just be the placebo effect due to liking white cubes more, but I find white cubes to be smoother.

Also, it's easier to see the boundaries of the pieces themselves on white cubes, so this might help with fixing/avoiding pops on certain puzzles.

Color cubes(White, green, yellow) are smoother, and the plastic is softer, which is why I prefer the for OH. Granted, there isn't a huge difference, and hardly telling right away, but they tend to break in differently.

Blue type F is a KO. The centre caps are different, and it is not produced by sheng-en
