Im thinking about putting so grinding time with roux to see if i can catch up tp my 3x3 avg and i heard being x2y color neutral would benefit me so much. The problem is i dont know how to practice it. I use to white and yellow since i use both of those colors for my cross with cfop but solving on any face and building blocks for the left and right colors confuses me. So do i just pick a face and do a bunch of solves till im comfortable and move on to the next color or is there a better way to approach this? im avg 1:50 so i have a long ways to go.

x2 y colour neutral is opposite colour neutral, in your case white/yellow. If you're using a single colour for sides, e.g. blue/green on side, practice using red/orange on the sides. I use white/yellow on sides but I haven't seen anyone else use this scheme other than the creator, and you could give that a go too.
