There has always been a thing where people say their cubes are gummy from excessive lube, i was wondering who likes their cubes gummy? I just relubed my aolong v2, and it became gummy, and i find that i like it a lot better, what are your thoughts on gummy cubes?

I always overlube my cubes, but I'm not quite sure what is meant by gummy. My understanding was always that "gummy" is a word to describe a slow cube that doesn't overshoot, mostly from using weight 5 silicone.

I would describe my cubes as maybe having a gummy noise, but not really the characteristics that people seem to associate with "gummy". Although I use weight 1 silicone + maru lube so there's that.

I prefer my cubes gummy, mainly because it makes the cube slower so it's easier for me to handle. As well as the feeling is fantastic.
does putting gummy lube affects the tps as my solves are depended on tps

i do, i like my dayan zanchi from 2010 lubbed with silicon spry nice and gummy, as sad as it sounds
This does it. I'm getting a Zhanchi so that I can prove all this BS propaganda people are spreading about Zhanchi(e?)s being bad at my next competition in the first round. It's actually a decent cube.

e: I AM DEAD SERIOUS

However, for BLD, I do like my cubes more gummy (but not that much) than normal since I feel I have a better, more steady, control over the cube.

Oh, yes. So much this. When it comes to 3BLD, overly fast and loose cubes are risky for me to use. I have to play it extra safe and the slightest overshooting drops my vibe instantly. Pretty sure my first MBLD fail by one cube was because of this exact reason.
