This might seem like a dumb question..

but with the screws/spring/washers... is there a particular way they go on...

like screw,washer,spring or screw,spring,washer...

and is there a difference between the two sides of the washer... i read somewhere taht one side was smoother.

Put big washer on screw, then spring on screw, and then small washer on screw.

I usually face the washer such that their "rounded" side is touching the plastic part of the cube (in a feeble attempt to prevent it from scratching it).

Another question on a related topic. I recently got a DIY from Rubiks and it came with a silicone based lubircant and suggests that I apply it. Is this ok? Or should I not do that and get the silicone spray that I have heard about?

Hmm well i read that it was supposed to be screw, washer, spring, washer but i onyl got 1 set of washers... :)

So i checked out how i put it together and i did screw, washer, spring.

I changed that to screw, spring washer, now it feels really stiff and doesnt turn as nicely... im not sure if the dust on the inside was acting as a lubricant or maybe i just need to wear it in again but its rather frustrating to get tired hands from using it.

Does it just need to be worn in again?
