Okay, so a bit of an update on this:Okay, so after getting decent pyramunx results, I’ve decided to get into square-1.
Skewb and square-1 are the only fast events that I have not gotten into yet, and I want to change that by getting better at square-1.
What I have been doing is learning all the 10 cube shapes where scallop shape is on top. This was I can just make scallop shape on top and then do CS from there, making for a pretty efficient Cubeshape, without learning all of the algorithms. Progress so far has been great, and I have learned 8/10 of the algorithms nessecary.
Once I finish this, I will start to adopt this cubeshape method and put it into solves. This should fix my cubeshape.
From there, I am planning to learn some nessecary EO’s, and maybe even full EO if I am up to it. I will also learn all CP algorithms, and will also try to find a better EP solving method.
I also need to learn a better parity algorithm. The one I use is fast but messes up corners and edges.
anyway, cubeshape has been the worst part of my solve by far, so I hope to see some improvement soon!
I have learned a lot in squan over the past week.
I learned all of the scallop-top CS cases, and have learned all of the cases that are 1 slice into scallop-kite.
I have learned a lot of EP's. I learned one of the good U perm EPs, Adj/adj from the back angle, Z perm, Z perm on bottom, Z/Z, H on top, H on bottom, H/H, and O/Opp. Granted, a lot of these are very similar to other EP's, so it didn't take that much effort to learn this.
I also learned a better method at doing parity. I used to use the intuitive method, but I have switched to the Adj/Adj parity as it is better.
I also learned the 1, 1 EO, as well as the J/N and N/J CP cases.
Currently, I am learning all of the shield top cases. It is going pretty well, and I am about halfway through finishing this set. I made a list of cube-shapes and organised them based on a few things, which will make it easier for me to learn them. I will learn them by learning each shape-cases, as I find it is an easy way for me to learn the CS cases.
Anyway, here is the list I made:
Group 1:
Left pawn: 10 (5 slice max)
Scallop : 10 (5 slices max)
Right pawn :10 (5 slice max)
Shield : 10 (5 slices max)
Barrel : 10 (6 slices max)
Muffin : 10 (6 slice max)
Left fist : 10 (6 slice max)
Right fist : 10 (6 slice max)
Kite : 10 (7 slices max)
Square : 10 (7 slice max)
55 cases
0 slicers: 1
1 slicers: 1
2 slicers: 2
3 slicers: 13
4 slicers: 9
5 slicers: 18
6 slicers: 10
7 slicers: 1
Group 2:
Star: 5 (base case)
8: 1 (4 slice)
6-2: 1 (4 slice)
4-4: 1 (4 slice)
7-1: 1 (6 slice)
5-3: 1 (6 slice)
5 cases
4 slicers: 3
6 slicers: 2
Group 3:
Parallel edges: 10 (base case, 6 slices max)
Perpendicular edges: 10 (base case 6 slices max)
Pair: 10 (base case, 5 slices max)
4-2 Left: 3 (5 slices max)
4-2 Right: 3 (5 slices max)
4-1-1: 3 (5 slices max)
6: 3 (5 slices max)
3-2-1: 3 (5 slices max)
3-1-2: 3 (5 slices max)
3-3: 3 (5 slices max)
5-1 left: 3 (5 slices max)
5-1 right: 3 (5 slices max)
2-2-2: 3 (6 slices max)
4 slicers: 15
5 slicers: 13
6 slicers: 2
30 cases
I categorised each group as what shapes combinations you can get. So in group 1 you can get all the shape combinations available in group 1, but not from other groups.
Anyway, I think my squan-progress is going pretty well. I mostly will be learning cubeshape for now, as it is by far the worst part of my solve.
