So I read a little on hardware forum and decided to buy D type 3x3x3 cube after my rubiks got broken...
Will I have to break it in like the rubik's one?
Does they lockup when they are new??

You still have to break it in, but not as much.

However, you will have other problems since you ordered a black one from Cube4you. Those Type Ds have new, bad screws. They make the cube lock up more and make the screws come out. Like every 5 minutes the screw will literally come out of the cube. It's a pain. To fix that problem look at this thread, but it still won't be as good as using the old screws. Next time, get a Type D from 9spuzzles (a.k.a. Yuga DIYs). And the cube isn't great out of the box either.

Other information about Type D:
They do lock up more than other DIYs, but in my opinion, they lock up less than most Rubik's Brand storeboughts, when both cubes are new. If you replace the Type D core with an old Type A core, the cube does lock up less, and turns better. However, it doesn't fix the problems associated with the new, bad screws.

Sorry for hearing this, but next time you buy a cube research VERY thoroughly before making your choice.

I think the reviews are a bit outdated;)
Yeah I think that too.

is it better then the original rubiks?
It's all about opinion and how good your Rubik's Brand storebought cube is. I haven't tried many good storeboughts, so I'm not going to say much. I just have to say that my Type D with old screws with the old Type A core is very good :)

If you are ordering from cube4you, it is not very likely for you to get the good, old type d. You will most likely get a new, bad type d.

Btw, Today I received my YUGA(old type D) from rubiksfans on ebay ( just search for it , it's a shop) and I can confirm that it has old screws so buy from there, I'm pretty sure it can ship to israel;)
