Cutting Corners, What is it?

it's when you turn, you can easily move a perpendicular slice without perfectly lining up the initial slice.

In other words, if you turn the Right Face a quarter turn clockwise but don't quite line it up - you can turn the Upper Face a quarter turn clockwise without it "jamming" (which is known as cutting corners)

Usually it's because the tension is loose enough to allow it. If it were really tight and the corners weren't that rounded (really sharp) then you'd end "jamming" the cube until you align the pieces.
