i just wanted to know if you take off the center caps will it break? like pieces come apart in any way? i dont want to try it with my 4x4 or 5x5 because its a hassle putting it back together.

why would it break?? they are just caps try it on your 3x3 nothing will happen but if you try to solve it you can get parity which you cant solve easily. 4x4 doesnt have center caps if you didnt notice.

Well it probably won't do any good if you're using a Rubik's brand or something.
For DIY cubes you need to take them off to adjust the tension, and the worst that will happen by leaving them out is a parity case.
If you mean center pieces that probably won't work at all.

Depends on the brand, Eastsheen 4^3 actually have center caps.

The center caps on an Eastsheen 4x4 are not like the center caps on a 3x3 because they actually move in relation to one another. They are more similar to center pieces than caps.
Still though, you can take off the center caps and it won't fall apart or break.

I was wondering, can it help getting faster at solving the cross ? caus I read that to solve the cross quickly, you should be able to do it blindfolded, so if you take off the center caps, it's almost like doing the cross blindfolded right ?

Not really, doing it blindfolded means you cant see the pieces you are working with at all. This helps for look ahead, but if you just have the caps off, then you can still see the pieces you are working with.

Additionally, cubing without the caps will increase the amount of dirt that can get into your cube and especially in the screw areas which will slow it down. I don't recommend it.
