Cubing Retirement

Yep, trying to fully understand commutators and conjugates was what brought me back to cubing.
Yeah! For me it’s been non-wca solving. I’ve moved away from speed and have been infatuated with finding new ways to solve all kinds of non-wca puzzles without help/tutorials.

do you hit sub 20 then retire?
more like you can’t get sub-20 so you retire!

This thread is a trainwreck.
I mean, I solved like 3 puzzles last year. My hand injuries stop me from actively doing Sq1, the only event that matters.
But the community is more than just 'Turn Fast'
There's a lot to do here. I still like to

Analyze new methods for their viability
Analyze algorithns and how to implement them
Help those on topics I can do so
Yell at kids.

Not actively cubing anymore, still in the community. Would be nice to still be champion in my own country but that won't happen either.

Adults should always be nice to kids?
In principal, that is true, unfortunately, no form of parenting(the word parenting is not limited to parents) will lead to a very bad outcome. Fortunitely, any adult and teen and even kid can come up to a kid and tell them when they are wrong and are supposed to act differently.

Yo please kindly appreciate the effort of (me) steering this thread back lol

I distinctly remember a point when Kevin Hays said he was retiring from cubing. However, when I look at his WCA profile, I have no idea when that would have been. It must be a Mandela effect. By the way does anyone remember a cube company called GANS?

He still goes to comps for fun but he doesn't really care about results, and doesn't actively practice. Yes, he is North American champion for fun.

you think i need 4 movers to get sub 1.01

Well the chances of me getting 5 absurd sub 1.1able scrambles in comp is ridiculously low, and the chances of me executing them well are also ridiculously low too lol
More practice, and you can do it. I'm predicting it right now.

What about it?

Do you want to apply commutators and Conjugates to BLD events, or FMC event?
When I stopped cubing I was learning K4 ELL and curiously what brought me back was to continue learning K4, but not only learning it but to actually understand it.
I am actually interested in FMC although I have never really practiced it.
I've just learned 3BLD this year and I am transitioning to M2 for edges, maybe in the long run I will do comms.

Also this! I want to solve non-wca puzzles by my own and commutators and conjugates are just an amazing tool!

I think Kevin said that he'll be practicing more now in preparation for worlds.
Gans is now just Gan.

Let's see him try. I feel the opposite of stupid ngl.
Yeah, I'm afraid I lack the ability to penetrate such a strong ego. All I can say is this: Please brag to your parents instead of us. We don't know you, and frankly, we don't care about your test scores. You were so insistent that this forum is specific to cubing, and that I by existing here must be considered cubing, but you sure are inclined to bring in other subjects.
